After going winless in the first four 3+ weeks of the hockey season, the Wisconsin Badgers have now reeled off three straight games, including a weekend sweep over Michigan Tech. The Badgers capped off the weekend with a 6-0 shutout win over the Huskies at the Kohl Center on Saturday night.
Blake Geoffrion scored two powerplay goals for his first collegiate hat trick and the Badgers scored 5 of their 6 goals on the power play.
John Mitchell, Tom Gorowsky and Ryan McDonagh added powerplay goals for the Badgers, who improved to 3-6-1 overall, 3-4-1 in the WCHA. The Badgers 3-game win streak is their first since late in the 2006-07 season.
Wisconsin's Scott Gudmandson, who allowed 12 goals in his first two starts of the season, earned his first collegiate shutout.
