The DOT has "roundabout" plans

November 21, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Roundabouts are becoming more popular in Wisconsin.

There are about 90 of the circular intersection routes, says Pat Fleming of the DOT, and another 200 are on the drawing board.

Fleming says roundabouts are receiving a greater focus because they help to reduce delays at intersections and have a dramatic impact on safety. Where roundabouts have been installed, Felming says there's been a 90-percent reduction in fatal crashes and 75-percent drop in injury accidents.
