What worries older voters?

November 3, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Elderly Wisconsinites are pledging their votes for Tuesday.

That's what AARP-Wisconsin found after a six week Voter Express Van Tour of the state. The group hit nearly 50 cities during that time, where they encouraged older voters to sign pledges to head to the polls on Election Day.

Spokesman Jim Flaherty says nearly 100-percent of those they spoke with plan to vote on Tuesday. He says they were hungry for information about the candidates, and how they stand on issues important to their age group.

Flaherty says it was a non-partisan effort to inform voters about the candidates. He says the top issues on their minds were financial security and health care.
