The Farmers' Almanac accurately predicted that Wisconsin would be pounded by heavy snow sometime during December 8th to the 11th. Editor Pete Geiger says they use a more than 100 year old formula that involves astronomy readings. The predictions are done two years in advance and published a year ahead of time.
The publication was one of the few voices to forecast last year's long snowy winter. Geiger says this winter in Wisconsin will be wet, wild and snowy and "numbingly" cold. Expect a storm around Christmas then numerous snowfalls in January and February, according the almanac.
Geiger says the authentic Farmers Almanac is the one with the orange and green cover.
