Drivers, are you prepared?

December 22, 2008 By WRN Contributor

If you are getting in the car be prepared for the winter temperatures. Larry Kamholz, spokesman for AAA Wisconsin, says people need to ensure they have enough blankets and warm clothes in the car including hats, gloves or mittens. Kamholz also says "first aid kits are a plus to have in the vehicle if you're involved in a crash where they are some type of injuries."

Kamholz calls cell phones a "great tool" to have but having a charger is important as well.

He says avoid driving in bad winter conditions unless absolutely necessary.

Multiple fender benders on I-43 Ozaukee County caused a shutdown on southbound lanes for three hours Sunday. There were no major injuries.
