After a face-to-face meeting between New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman and free agent picher CC Sabathia, the big left hander has decided to spend the next six years as a member of the Yankees.
According to the New York Post , the decision came late last night after Cashman flew to see Sabathia (pictured) at his home in San Francisco. Sabathia must still pass a physical, but he's about to make official the richest pitching contract in baseball history, a 6-year deal worth at least $140-million.
Sabathia went 17-10 with a 2.70 ERA for the Indians and Brewers this past season. The Yankees and Brewers were the only two teams to put offers on the table for Sabathia, and CC took the larger of the two, larger by at least $40-million.
