St. Norbert shocks top ranked Platteville in Div. 3

December 31, 2008 By WRN Contributor

An upset in Division 3 college basketball last night (Tuesday) as St. Norbert College came from 15 down at the half (37-22) to knock off top-ranked
UW-Platteville 70-68 to win their own holiday tournament in De Pere.

The Green Knights shot just 26% from the field in the first half before hitting 17 of 23 field goal tries in the 2nd half to pull out their first win over a top ranked opponent in program history.  It's the 2nd win for St. Norbert over a WIAC team this season, as they improve to 8-1.

The Pioneers lost for the first time this season.  They're 11-1 and will mostly likely fall from their perch as the top ranked Divison 3 team in the country.
