Suspect nabbed in Ripon abduction attempt

December 18, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Murray Park Elementary School Parents in Ripon can rest at ease, now that a disorderly conduct charge has been referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney's office against a 60-year-old man who allegedly tried to lure two students into his car earlier this week.

According to Police Chief Dave Lukoski, it happened about 7:30 Tuesday morning. The two fifth grade girls were on their way to school when the man stopped and asked them to get into his car. They didn't know him and didn't get in the vehicle.

Lukoski says the girls gave them information about the man's car and the man, which helped to find the suspect. The man told police he stopped to offer the children a ride and admitted he told them to get into the car several times. Lukoski says the man realized he'd made a mistake when he saw how anxious and agitated the two girls were.

The man was arrested at his factory job and charged with disorderly conduct.
