Brewers have saves leader Hoffman on their radar

January 7, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Doug Melvin The Milwaukee Brewers are in the hunt for all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman.  Hoffman is expected to decide in the next day or so whether he'll stay on the West Coast and accept a free agent deal with the Dodgers or come to the midwest and play for the Brewers.

The Dodgers have the geographical advantage with Hoffman living near San Diego.

If Hoffman doesn't select Milwaukee, Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said the Brewers will likely go to spring training with the idea of finding a closer from within their organization.
