Haslett is available, Packers reportedly talking with Capers

January 16, 2009 By WRN Contributor

NFL.com is reporting today that the Green Bay Packers are interviewing former Houston and Carolina head coach Dom Capers for their vacant defensive coordinators position.

On Thursday, the St. Louis Rams told Jim Haslett that he is no longer under consideration for the Rams head coaching job.  That frees up Haslett to the Packers if Mike McCarthy cares to move in that direction.  Haslett has already interviewed with McCarthy.

The top two coaches on Mike McCarthy's wish list have already accepted defensive coordinator positions, Mike Nolan with Denver and Greg Williams in New Orleans.
