Basketball Badgers win second straight

February 9, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The Badger defense put the clamps on Penn State and beat the Nittany Lions in State College 54-44 in men's Big Ten basketball on Sunday afternoon.

Marcus Landry scored 13 points and Jon Leuer added 12 as the Badgers, who had lost 6-straight games at one point, have now won two in a row.  The Badgers defense held Penn State's high scoring guard Talor Battle to just 10 points on 4 of 15 shooting from the field.

Wisconsin improves to 5-6 in the Big Ten (14-9 overall) and are a game behind the Lions, who are tied for 5th place in the Big Ten.  Penn State has lost two straight since upsetting Michigan State last week.
