Bogut to miss extended time with back injury

February 5, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Andrew Bogut The Milwaukee Bucks playoff hopes have taken a hit with the loss of center Andrew Bogut.  The former number 1 pick will miss at least 8 weeks with a stress fracture in his back.  The injury was revealed this week after Bogut underwent a series of tests.

The Bucks are currently in 8th place in the Eastern Conference playoff chase, but they've already lost leading scorer Michael Redd, now will be without Bogut, who was averaging 11.7 points and a team-high 10.3 rebounds a game.

Bogut had previously missed 13 of the last 18 games.  The Bucks are off until Saturday night when they host Detroit.
