According to Tom Haudricourt's Journal Sentinel Brewers Blog , Brewers prospect Brett Lawrie (pictured) will be on the roster for Team Canada for the World Baseball Classic this spring.
Lawrie has already played for the Canadian Junior Team in the World Games in Edmonton shortly after the draft, then was placed on the roster for Team Canada during the Olympics in Beijing, making this his 3rd international assignment.
The 19 year old Lawrie has yet to play his first professional game in the Brewers' organization. If team Canada doesn't get out of first round Pool play, he could be back in spring training soon. Canada opens play against Team USA in Toronto. Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun will be the starting leftfielder for Team USA.
