March 6, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Gwen Jorgensen Wisconsin's Gwen Jorgenson has been recognized for her championship performance at last weekend's Big Ten Conference Indoor Championships.

The senior was named to the All-Big Ten first team after sweeping the conference titles in the 3,000 and 5,000 meter events over the weekend in Bloomington, Indiana.

Jorgensen used a pair of last-lap passes to complete her distance double at the Big Ten meet.  She gave the Badgers their 17th conference title in the indoor 3,000 meters and their eighth Big Ten crown in the indoor 5,000.  The Waukesha, Wis., also qualified for the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships in three events.
