Badgers pick up key win over Wolverines

March 1, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The Wisconsin Badgers came from behind at halftime to beat the Michigan Wolverines 60-55 at the Kohl Center on Sunday.

Trevon Hughes scored 19 points and Marcus Landry added 13 as the Badgers improved to 18-10 overall and 9-7 in the Big Ten Conference .  The win also assures the Badgers of a .500 league finish.  The Badgers are tied with Penn State for fourth place in the Big Ten, but would win a tie-breaker, based on their 2-game series sweep this season.

After the Wolverines shot better than 56% in the first half, they managed to shoot just over 30% in the second half.

The Badgers flew a 9-point lead in the first half and trailed by 2 at the half.  But they came out on a 13-2 run to start the 2nd half to pull off the win.
