Cummins Filtration cuts 127 jobs

March 24, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Another Wisconsin company is announcing more job cuts.

Cummins Filtration in Viroqua is laying off 53 workers, about one-sixth of its workforce. Company officials say it's due to a decrease in demand for their products. The company is also cutting 44 workers at its plant in Bloomer, and 30 at the Black River Falls plant.

News of the Cummins lay-offs follows the January announcement of the closing of the NCR plant in Viroqua. About 80 workers there will be out of a job March 31st.
