Golden Eagles Advance in WNIT

The Marquette women began defense of their WNIT Championship with a 58-49 win over Butler on Monday night in Milwaukee. Kystal Ellis and Lauren Thomas-Johnson led the Golden Eagles with 11 points Each.

The win improves Marquette to 17-15 on the season.  They will play either Louisiana Tech or Illinois State in the WNIT Quarterfinals on Thursday night at a site to be determined.  Those two teams will square off tonight.
