Marquette rolls into Big East Quarterfinals

The Marquette Golden Eagles put a quick stop to their 4-game Big East losing streak, holding St. John's to just 3 first half field goals and posting a convincing
74-45 win over the Red Storm in the second round of the Big East Tournament.

Wesley Matthews poured in 20 points and pulled down 9 rebounds and Lazar Hayward added 17 points and 9 rebounds as the 5th seeded Golden Eagles improved to 24-8 on the season.

Marquette shot 49% from the field for the game and will advance to take on Villanova in Thursday's quarterfinals.  The 13th seeded Red Storm finished the season witha  16-17 record.
