Marquette's McNeal named to All Big East 1st team

Jerel McNeal Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody and Pittsburgh forward Sam Young are repeat selections on the 2008-09 All-Big East First Team.  The vote comes from the Big East head coaches who are not permitted to vote for their own players. 

Six players were named to the All-Big East First Team, including Marquette guard Jerel McNeal.  McNeal (pictured) was third in the league in scoring (20.1) and fourth in steals (2.1).  Joining McNeal on the first team are Hasheem Thabeet of Connecticut, Terrence Williams of Louisville, Luke Harangody of Notre Dame and both DeJuan Blair and Sam Young of Pittsburgh.

Marquette's Wes Matthews was named to the All-Big East Second Team.
