Packers get nothing in compensatory pool

March 23, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The NFL today awarded a total of 32 compensatory draft picks to 16 NFL teams, but the Packers didn't receive any.

The Packers didn't suffer a net loss last year in free agency, therefore were not deemed worth of any compensatory compensation in the upcoming April draft.  All of the picks awarded are from the third through seventh rounds.

Both Cincinnati and Tennessee will get four picks apiece.  New England , Chicago , Cincinnati and the New York Giants will all get 3rd round picks.  The remainder of the compensatory selections are fourth round or later.

The Chicago Bears extra 3rd round pick is 99th overall.  They also get two seventh round picks.  The Detroit Lions get one 7th round pick and the Minnesota Vikings , like the Packers, were shut out.
