Pens from GM

March 19, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Janesville's General Motors Plant is still producing something, office supplies for local school districts. Curriculum Coordinator for Janesville Schools Steve Huth says GM and the United Auto Workers have communicating for several weeks to see what items could be reused in the schools.  Huth says the schools will receive pallet sized loads of the supplies including pens, bulletin boards, toner cartridges and even picnic tables. The supplies will be distributed to school districts in Rock County this week.

Huth says GM has regularly mentored local students. He says those resources will be missed by the relationship schools have built with the automaker and UAW has been priceless.
