Stevens Point headed to NCAA's

March 1, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Top-seeded Stevens Point knocked off second seeded Platteville 45-42 to win the WIAC Tournament Championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA Div. 3 tournament.

The Pointers shot just 39% from the field, but held the Pioneers to 32% shooting.

Stevens Point (23-4) will find out who they play and where when the 60-team NCAA Tournament field is announced on Monday.  Platteville is 22-5 and should receive an at-large bid in the field.
