Suppan sharp in Brewers loss

March 18, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Jeff Suppan Jeff Suppan (pictured) tossed five scoreless innings on Tuesday and Corey Hart doubled twice, driving in two runs, but the Milwaukee Brewers still fell to the San Francisco Giants 7-5.  The Brewers will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in Cactus League action today.

Brewers manager Ken Macha says closer Trevor Hoffman has been sidelined by a strain on his right side.  Team trainers aren't overly concerned about the injury, but there's no timetable for his return.  Baseball's alltime saves leader signed with the Brewers in Januaryafter spending most of his career with San Diego.
