Fatal plane crash in NW Wisconsin

April 23, 2009 By WRN Contributor

A Grantsburg man died Wednesday as a result of a plane crash in Burnett County near County Road O and East River Road close to Grantsburg. The accident happened just after 1:30 PM. The DNR says it was an ultralight airplane. The agency also says the crash started a one acre grassfire as well. Information regarding the pilot will be released at a later time.

The cause of the crash is now being investigated by the Burnett County Sheriff's Department, FAA and NTSB.
