More pressure for a Smoke-Free Wisconsin

April 21, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Smoking foes are revving up the push for a statewide ban.

Their latest gambit is an online petition, which Maureen Busalacchi of Smoke-Free Wisconsin says 6,000 people signed on it 48 hours. The petition calls on lawmakers to adopt the statewide smoking ban included in Governor Doyle's proposed state budget.

Busalacchi admits the support may not be that surprising though. That's because a call to support the petition was sent out to several groups supporting the efforts of Smoke-Free Wisconsin, such as the Cancer Society and Lung Association.
