Body found in Madison lake

May 14, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The body of a man in his late 20's, from another county, was found in Lake Mendota this morning. Police spokesman Joel DeSpain says they've tentatively i-d'd the body. As for how long it had been in the lake, "not long but specifically when it went in and where…we don't know at this time." The coroner's office says a preliminary review does not reveal any obvious cause of death. The body was discovered around 5:30 this morning near the east end of James Madison Park.
