Brewers drop series finale with Cubs

May 11, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Alfonso Soriano clubbed a 2-run homer in the Cubs 4-run 3rd as Chicago salvaged the final game of their series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park this weekend.  Cubs starter Sean Marshall settled down after a rocky start, giving up just a pair of runs on 5-hits in 5-innings to pick up the win.

Jeff Suppan gave up all four runs in the 3rd and took the loss for the Brewers.  Milwaukee just completed a stretch in which they played 20 games in 20 days, going 14-6.  They get a well deserved day off today before opening a 3-game series against the Florida Marlins at Miller Park on Tuesday night.
