CWS Update: Carthage takes early lead in CWS opener

May 22, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Carthage College put the first run of the 2009 NCAA Div. 3 CWS on the board in the top of the 3rd.

Carthage College's #2 hitter, Tyler Eickmeyer singled with two outs to bring up 3-hitter, first baseman John Lequia.  The big left hander promptly delivered a run scoring double high off the wall in left center field.  Eickmeyer scored easily to give the Red Men a 1-0 lead.

Wooster is batting in the bottom of the third.
