One beast of a customer

May 20, 2009 By WRN Contributor

He wasn't fast, but a customer at a Fond du Lac convenience store certainly was one of the furriest. Police got a call early Wednesday morning about a man dressed in an ape-like costume who entered a Kwik Trip store.

Police Captian Steve Klein says the gorilla tried to take a large styrofoam banana display, but was unsuccessful. The suspect then fled on foot before police arrived.

Klein says they didn't find the ape-man in the area of the store, but will check the usual hangouts for the gorilla-like creature. He says that does include local zoos.

Klein says they are also trying to substantiate whether the furry felon tried to soothe his banana craving by hitting a second store.
