Some excitement for the Safety Patrol

May 11, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Forty elementary school students from Portage had some excitement Monday morning, when their bus blew a tire on the Interstate near Lyndon Station. The accident caused the bus to swerve off the road and into the median, where the vehicle stopped.

Chaperone Trever Guenther says the kids, who are on a Safety Patrol trip to South Dakota, were a bit nervous. However, none of them were injured.

Another bus was sent to pick up the kids, and resume the trip to South Dakota.
