Bucks Make Trade

June 23, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The Bucks have traded Richard Jefferson to the Spurs in exchange for Bruce Bowen and Kurt Thomas.  Also as part of the deal, Frabrico Oberto goes to Detroit and Amir Johnson gets sent to the Bucks from the Pistons.

The deal saves the Bucks $3 million dollars this season and will clear $15 million dollars off the salary cap next season.  It also opens up playing time for last year's lottery pick Joe Alexander and could free up some cap room to resign either Charlie Villanueva or Ramon Sessons.  Bowen and Thomas will add veterans to the core of young talent already on the roster.
