Fatal crash blamed on dog

June 22, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Distracted driving is being blamed for a fatal wreck Saturday in Dane County.

The Dane County Sheriff's Department says a Pewaukee man crossed the median on Highways 18 and 151 west of Verona after his dog jumped on his lap.

The driver's motor home hit an SUV from Iowa, killing two people and injuring two others. One of those individuals had "life-threatening injuries," although their condition remains unknown.

The crash remains under investigation with no word yet on if any charges will be filed.
