Good to see Lake Delton back in business

June 9, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Pontoon graveyard I'm glad to see Lake Delton filled up and ready for people to enjoy once again.  The incident that caused the Lake to drain is well documented.  What I saw last year (the aftermath) is still unbelievable.

My family and I love to camp.  We head out 6 or 7 times a summer, all over the state, to enjoy the outdoors, the fishing, biking and water sports.  Our travels take us every summer to the Dells and we'll be back again this summer.

Last summer was unbelievable though.  I saw signs of businesses renting pontoon boats, 4-hours for 95-cents.  I'm not sure what any of those rental places would have done had somebody actually wanted to rent a pontoon, because most of them were stuck in the mud.

Lake Delton is just a piece of the tourist landscape in the Wisconsin Dells area and visitors like myself had plenty of other activities to go to.  But it's still great to see that area come back so quickly and we're looking especially forward to another great vacation at the Dells.
