Plane crash kills one

June 4, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The pilot of an ultra-light plane was killed Wednesday night in a crash in western Wisconsin. A man from the Chippewa County town of Edson died in the crash, which happened about 8:20 PM just west of Stanley.

Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk said the ultra-light went down about 300 yards west of the Ace Ethanol plant, and then hit a garage at a home. Witnesses there said the craft was flying west when it suddenly nose-dived.

The FAA was called in to investigate. The man’s name was not immediately released.
