Tavern League red flags amendment

Warnings today about unregulated drinking parties, thanks to action by state lawmakers. A last-minute addition to the state budget is under attack today. Scott Stenger of the Tavern League says it would allow nonprofit groups to provide free beer and wine at fundraisers, WITHOUT having a license.

"There are literally thousands of nonprofits that would qualify, from college frats and sororities, to book of the month clubs to garden clubs," says Stenger. "It is just a far reaching proposal. I don't think they (lawmakers) understood the impact that this would have." here are just far reaching

Stenger's group is trying to convince lawmakers to dump the measure, which he dubs the "frat amendment" from the final state budget.
