Brewers' Hall headed for AAA Nashville

July 31, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Milwaukee Brewers reserve infielder Bill Hall has volunteered to be optioned to Class AAA Nashville to work on his swing.  Hall is hitting just .201 with 5 home runs and 20 rbi's this season.

Hall was asked by the Brewers to go down to the minors just before the All-Star break, but because of his service time in the Majors, Hall had the right to refuse the assignment and he did.  But that was then and this is now.  Now, Hall's playing time has literally vanished and the only way he's going to get it back is to fix his offensive problems in the minors first.

Hall's large salary is the only thing that's still keeping him on the Brewers roster.  He's earning $6.8-million this year and will earn $8.4-million in 2010, the final year of his four year contract with the Brewers.

Hall is being replaced on the roster by infielder Hernan Iribarren from Nashville.
