Brewers struggle heading to all-star break

July 12, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers made the game respectable with a comeback in the final innings, but they still fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 in the final game before the all-star break.  The Brewers dropped 2 of 3 to the Dodgers in the series and have dropped 8 of their last 11 overall.

Yovani Gallardo took the loss and fell to 1-4 in his last 5 starts.  But he's had little run support with the Brewers scoring just 7-runs in his last 5 appearances.

The Brewers scored in the 7th & 8th innings, but saw a 9th inning rally fall short.

Depending on the outcome of the Sunday night game between the Cardinals and Cubs at Wrigley Field, the Brewers will head into the all-star break trailing St. Louis by at least 2-games.  If the Cardinals win, the Brewers will fall 2 1/2 back going into the break.
