Bullpen Blows Parra's Return

July 10, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The Brewers bullpen explodes in a 5-1 loss to St. Louis.  Manny Parra was brilliant in his return to the Big Leagues, throwing 7 scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and striking out seven, but he gets the no decision as Carlos Villanueva, Mitch Stetter, and Todd Coffey combined to give up 5 runs in the 8 th .  Ryan Ludwick's three run shot off of Coffey was the big blow in the frame.  Joel Piniero threw a three hit complete game to earn the win.

The Brewers open up a three game set with the Dodgers tonight at Miller Park.  Braden Looper takes the hill for the Crew while Chad Billingsley gets the start for LA.
