Three people luckily escaped major injuries after an airplane crash in Jackson County today.
An older single engine airplane crashed just 300 yards short of the Black River Falls Airport Friday morning. Jackson County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Mark Moen.
'An airplane had crashed in this residence front yard, which is right across the street. We were able to talk to the pilot. His name is Daniel Wilson, out of Minneapolis, MN. Him and two people were in route to ( EAA ) Oshkosh. And they got into this area and noticed they were having some problems with the airplane. Notice some oil problems and some temperature problems. So, he turned the plane around and tried to land it at the Black River Airport."
Moen says the plane went through the upper portion of the residence.
"Taking out the roof and part of the structure of the garage area of the house, it had an attached garage."
Only minor injuries were reported from the passengers in the plane. Three people in residence were not hurt. This is the second plane crash in Western Wisconsin in three days.
