Stick up turns deadly

July 27, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Kenosha Police are looking for two masked men who robbed a drive-in restaurant, killed an employee, and wounded the manager. It happened about 9:40 Sunday night at Shirl’s Custard Drive-In.

Police said the men entered a back door of the restaurant as it was about to close for the night. One had a gun, and the other a knife and they got away with an undetermined amount of cash after shooting the two people. There were no customers there at the time. One of the clerks, an 18-year-old Kenosha man, was killed. The manager, a 43-year-old Kenosha man, was treated at a hospital for his wounds and was later released. Four female employees, ages 17-to-20, were not hurt.

Police said the two suspects ran from the drive-in toward the southeast. Officers have been using police dogs and a helicopter as they searched for the two men overnight.
