Suppan to the DL

July 31, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right handed pitcher Jeff Suppan on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique, suffered while swinging the bat in his last start against Washington on Tuesday.

The Brewers have yet to announce a corresponding roster move, but there's a good chance they'll recall right handed pitcher Mike Burns, who was sent down recently after going 2-3 with a 6.30 ERA in seven games (5 starts).

Suppan may miss just one start because of off days.
