After losing the first two games of the series, the Milwaukee Brewers used the long ball to salvage the final game, 12-9 over the San Diego Padres.
Prince Fielder and reserve catcher Mike Rivera both clubbed a pair of home runs and Ryan Braun added the 5th. The Brewers jumped out to a 9-0 lead and appeared to be on cruise control, but the pitching almost caved.
Manny Parra picked up the win, but allowed 6-runs in 5 2/3 innings and the Brewers needed Trevor Hoffman to come on and earn his 26th save.
Rivera’s performance earned him another start tonight when the Brewers open a 3-game series against the Houston Astro’s at Miller Park
