Brewers promote 2008 1st round pick

The Milwaukee Brewers Brett Lawriemoved 2008 first-round draft pick Brett Lawrie from Class “A” Wisconsin to Class “AA” Huntsville.  The move will allow the Brewers to use Lawrie as the designated hitter for 10 days prior to his leaving for World Cup play for Team Canada.

The 19 year old Lawrie was hitting .274 in 105 games with the Timber Rattlers.  He has 18 doubles, 5 triples, 13 home runs and 65 runs batted in.  Lawrie also stole 19 bases.
