Bucks acquire Delfino from Toronto

August 19, 2009 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks completed a trade that sent forward Amir Johnson and guard Sonny Weems to the Toronto Raptors for small forward Carlos Delfino and point guard Roko Ukic.

Delfino, who is the main player in this deal, played three seasons with the Detroit Pistons and one with Toronto before going to Russia last season.  He average 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 26 league games with BC Khimki.  Toronto had to sign Delfino before they could trade him.  He receives a three-year deal worth $3.5-million per season.

The Bucks now have first round pick Brandon Jennings, veteran Luke Ridnour and Ukic in the mix at point guard.  Restricted free agent Ramon Sessions also has yet to receive an offer from any other NBA team.
