Driver who killed pedestrian was drunk

August 5, 2009 By WRN Contributor

A Sawyer County woman is being charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, in connection with the weekend death of another woman. Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal police say 47 year-old Cynthia Gordon was struck by a vehicle as she walked along County Highway K at around 2:30 Sunday morning. Gordon died from her injuries at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Officers arrested the driver, 26 year-old Gina Trepanier. Trepanier was released on a $100,000 signature bond after making her initial appearance in Sawyer County Circuit Court. The LCO Police Department is continuing the investigation into Gordon’s death.
