Humphrey suffers another setback with Packers

August 7, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Tory Humphrey If Tory Humphrey didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all.  Humphrey suffered a broken forearm in a Thursday morning training camp practice and is scheduled to have surgery today.  The Green Bay Packers say they will wait until the surgery to determine his immediate future, but the injury will likely end his season.

Humphrey had a hamstring injury in 2006, which landed him on injured reserve.  Then he missed all of the 2007 season after breaking his lower leg on the first day of training camp.

If Humphrey's season is indeed over, his career with the Green Bay Packers could be as well.  He played all of last season as the backup to Donald Lee but finished with just 11 catches for 162 yards.  In this training camp, Humphrey is behind both Lee and Jermichael Finley and was competing for the 3rd spot in the rotation.

It's likely the only chance that Humphrey will have a future with the Packers is if he can recover in time for the season opener on Sept. 13th against the Chicago Bears.
