August 4, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Two people were shot by phony deputy in northern Wisconsin. Law enforcement is still searching for a man suspected of shooting two people while pretending to be a sheriff’s deputy. Thomas Erickson was shot twice, his wife Maria was shot once in the incident Sunday night in the St. Croix County Town of Wilson. Both are recovering. Deputies are saying they don’t believe the home was a random target. They say the intruder, wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the word “sheriff,” told the Erickson’s he was a deputy and demanded money and drugs.

The suspect broke into the home through a back door, which woke the Ericksons. Investigators say they’ve questioned several people about the incident but don’t have anyone in custody yet.

They’re looking for a while male with dark hair, around 5’10” and between 150 and 180 pounds.
