Badger men are 14th in hockey preseason poll

Mike Eaves The Wisconsin men’s hockey team is ranked 14th in the country in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine preseason rankings. 

Wisconsin is one of five WCHA teams ranked among the nation’s top 15.  The Badgers are joined by Denver (2nd), Minnesota (6th), North Dakota (8th) and St. Cloud State (13th) in the poll.  Mike Eaves’ Badgers finished last season unranked with a 20-16-4 overall record and third-place finish in the WCHA. 

2009 NCAA runner-up Miami (Ohio) s ranked #1.  Following #2 Denver is Boston University, Michigan and number-5 Notre Dame.

The Badgers open the season Friday, Oct. 16 at home against Colorado College.
