After finishing last in the National League with a 5.37 ERA in 2009, the Milwaukee Brewers have decided to go in another direction with their pitching coach. The Brewers are expected to officially announce Rick Peterson as the teams new pitching coach today.
Peterson has previous experience with both Brewers manager Ken Macha and bench coach Willie Randolph. He worked in Boston’s farm system with Macha and became the pitching coach for the New York Mets, where Randolph was the manager.
Former Brewers pitcher Chris Bosio was passed up for the job. Bosio came from Triple-A Nashville to take over for the Brewers on an interim basis when Bill Castro was fired in August.
