Gamblers Makowski is CCM Defensive Player of the Week

October 5, 2009 By Bill Scott

Green Bay Gamblers defenseman David Makowski was selected as the CCM Defensive Player of the Week.

Makowski scored three points (2g, 1a) in the season opener last Saturday night at Green Bay, a 5-4 Gamblers loss to the rival Waterloo Blackhawks in USHL action.  Makowski’s performance came on the same night that the team raised the 2008-09 Anderson Cup banner.

The Gamblers defenseman fired a game high seven shots on goal and scored all three of his points on the power play.

The 20 year old native of Wildwood, Missouri, Makowski is playing in his second season with the Gamblers.  He is committed to Denver University for next season.
